modern twist
even though my wardrobe has a solid foundation built with time-honored essentials, it’s fun to hip-up my look from time-to-time. but when i do mix things up, one foot is firmly anchored in conventionality. today’s ootd is a perfect example. denim is definitely an american classic, but this pair is cropped, flared, and fringed. and we all know nothing can compare to that classic essential, a must-have white shirt. but when grommets are added to a high-low hem it’s been transformed into boho chic. and if you prefer a shirt with sleeves, i’ve linked two options below. now, all that’s left to do is add a few key accessories. since summer is still singing its last few refrains, a pair of lace sandals will do the trick. but i couldn’t resist a little matchy-matchy style rule from a by-gone era. notice how the structured handbag reinforces the neutral color scheme? but at the same time, it adds a traditional flair. now how easy is that? classic and conventional just got tweaked. and i love it!
