pleats please
there is something feminine and flirty about a pleated skirt. maybe because it moves with you with ease and reminds us how fun it is to be a girl. or it brings back childhood memories of my twirling days. remember spinning so fast we fell? then we popped back up to do it again! and maybe again… whatever the case this little number from Karl Lagerfeld Paris is a perfect addition to my classic wardrobe. and it was a steal i scored on my last trip to Dillard’s. who doesn’t love a bargain? especially when it can be worn over and over. ah, the joy of justification.
sometimes, date night is as easy as swiping a coat of fresh lipstick across my lips and slipping into a pair of heels. other times, it’s fun to switch gears, leaving my beloved blue jeans on the shelf and sprucing up with an easy breezy ensemble like this striped knit top and pleated skirt. add a pair of sandals a jazzy clutch, and it’s instant glam for a night out with mr. style.
this knit top is available in black and white, but i gravitated towards the pink. surprise, surprise! the pearl necklace comes with the top but can easily be removed for a more casual look. can’t wait to style this with black denim.

You look very feminine and elegant. I’ve always liked pleats. And does the striped top have subtle white “pleating” at the sleeve as well? Nice touch. I have a string of pearls just like those, and I love them, because you can double them up, make them shorter, and just change their look very readily. Enjoy date night!
