many of you write in asking about my shopping habits, and while i am definitely not a power-shopper, i always have one eye out for items that stand out. the coat i have on for today’s ootd is the perfect example of one-such item. it’s like stumbling upon a treasure when it happens. it was the militaryesque features on the coat that drew me in like the epaulets trimmed in red, and the brass buttons. trench coats are timeless, classic additions to your wardrobe, but when you find one that’s a bit different from the pack it’s never a bad idea to pounce on it. this coat is the perfect topper for my blue and red polka dot skirt. i couldn’t resist a little pattern mixing with a striped button-down shirt. a pair of red patent leather pumps just seals the deal, and keeps this nine-to-five outfit looking fresh and fun.

Great coat! The red details are prefect! Pieces that have the little something extra really make a difference!
it’s always those little details that make an outfit! stay dry!

Red shoes with chunky heels are terrific!
i have to agree! i’ve had these shoes for several years now, and i love to punch up an outfit with them.
