shirtdress season

one of the best parts of spring/summer has to be the lighter layers. and while i’m always the first to welcome fall with its abundance of sweaters, i’m never sad to pack them away at season’s end. so it’s hello silk, linen, and featherweight cashmere. and goodbye wools, suede, and down coats. for today’s ootd i’m keeping it simple with a silk shirtdress and dark denim jacket. a pop of color comes from a pair of orange block sandals that i am simply loving these past few weeks (i’m certain you’ve noticed). it’s the gold metallic across the upper band that i particularly like which pairs perfectly with gold jewelry. i’m wearing a fun cuff bracelet today that i know you will be seeing more of as the season progresses. it’s light and airy and shaped like coral. perfect for summer. i’m headed to the airport today as one of my son’s is flying back from buenos aires. he’s making a pit stop with us before he heads off to l.a. then back to new york where he lives. lucky me, as i will have 2 out of 3 of my kiddos with me this weekend. the fridge is stocked, and guess who’s cooking? i even made a batch of rice krispy treats that will last all of two hours…
