anyone else tired of winter? february has a way with grey skies and cold temps. take heart, spring is closer than we think. i know, i know, punxsutawney phil predicted six more weeks of winter. but we can do this! so when the temps are cold, it’s time to pull out the heavy artillery. this winter i am loving the cable knit turtleneck from everlane. last time i wore it on the blog here i paired it with white denim and boots. this time around i dressed up this chunky sweater with the addition of grey stripe sloan pants by banana republic. if you haven’t tried these pants, then get thee to a banana republic store ASAP. you won’t be disappointed.
when we lived in san francisco, i was a frequent patron of banana’s flagship store located on sutter and grant. it’s a sight to behold, sporting hardwood floors and a spiral staircase that leads to the women’s department. that’s when i discovered one of my favorite pants – the sloan. it’s made with patented technology that j.crew was keen to copy. in my opinion it’s one of the most comfortable pair of pants on the market with a sculpted skinny fit that hits your ankle.
sloan’s come in a variety of colors and patterns, so i imagine there’s one pair that will suit your fancy. sometimes, grey pants are hard to come by so i pounced when i spotted these grey stripes. the flat front is flattering with a sleek tailored leg. but what i love best about sloan’s is the fabric that has stretch and recovery to sculpt your figure.

the color scheme is kept monochromatic by adding a pair of grey suede shoes and handbag. and jewelry? there’s only an addition of a silver cuff. but you’ll notice there are several textures at play with the cable knit, stripes, and suede that add a little oomph to this simple ootd. i guess you’d say this one is in the books.

Oh Beth! So glad you highlighted these wonderful Sloan pants! They are my absolute favorite and since discovering them several years ago, I’ve got myself a fun collection (most recent is a dark denim pair LOVE THEM!). I’m curvy in the caboose area and they are comfy, flattering and I feel so confident!
Need to look into these! I have not shopped Banana Republic before but since losing weight think I might be able to.
I broke down and purchased that turtleneck, and I love it. I’m glad I did. So cozy. The sloan’s look great here. Vertical stripes are so slimming and fun.
