Happy Thursday, ladies! Last week, we kicked off our first look at Spring by reviewing Talbots’ spring collection. I wanted to keep with that theme today but with a special focus on building Spring transition outfits. I mostly have in mind layering with light(er) blazers and sweaters and the like. And while it may be a bit chilly and dreary where you are, these outfits will help you transition seamlessly into warmer weather and sunshine.

1. Double Denim
When wearing double denim, I like to go for a dark rinse bottom and a light rinse top. This dynamic duo is paired with a white pique blazer that adds texture. It also lightens and brightens the outfit with a visual pop. if the temps heat up shed the third layer as this outfit could easily fly solo.
A pair of cap-toe espadrilles reinforce the color scheme and add balance. Add a wicker bucket bag, and this outfit is ready to step into a new week.

2. Denim Duster
A colorful striped tee looks fantastic with white jeans and the dark duster adds contrast. Colorful sandals easily reinforce the color scheme. And we all know I love me a wicker handbag.

3. Lightweight Blazer
A lightweight blazer is a must-have spring item. Blazers never go out of style, and neither do blue jeans. they’re a match made in heaven. just add a pair of your favorite denim to a lightweight blazer, and you have an instant summer outfit that’s relaxed yet chic.

4. Wide-Leg Pants
Stripe pants are just the ticket for a casual day out. I paired the wide-leg pants with a simple tee, but it would look adorable with an eyelet blouse or slim-fit sweater. Since the pants have a bit of volume, the rule of proportions is in play with a form-fitted tee.
I grabbed a white cotton cardigan for a third layer in case it gets too chilly in the morning or evening. Jack Rogers sandals add an element of fun to this outfit. The wicker tote adds subdued sophistication. All in all, I am ready for those gorgeous springtime temps Georgia is delivering.

5. Classic Black & white
Hard to go wrong with the classic black & white color combination. For those of you that don’t like wide-leg pants, any pair will work here. You really just can’t go wrong.
