and just like that it’s 2016. we all know i love a pop of color infused into my outfits. so how am i ringing in the new year? with subtle sophistication. they claim black is slimming so i’m putting it to the test with this all black ensemble. lord knows after the month of december, and one too many festive dinners, i’ll try every trick in the book to subtract a few pounds. today’s ootd features a jersey dress that is oh-so-comfy, and ever-so-versatile. monday’s version is nine-to-five chic, but stay tuned to tuesday’s post where i will take the same dress and transform it into nighttime glam. i don’t know about you, but i’m always on the lookout for a dress, skirt, or pants that can go from daytime to nighttime with ease. i’m a sucker for classic prints like buffalo check, and couldn’t resist this scarf which helps punch up this daytime look. i added a fun belt with silver hardware because we all know i try to sneak one in as often as i can. this dress would look absolutely darling with a pair of tights and boots, but today i went with a pair of flats that i have been wearing non-stop since they came into my life about a month ago… sometimes, i go overboard with a new purchase, and wear it ad nauseam. so there you have it, ladies, a simple, chic outfit that can take you to the office in style.

hi andrea! my year is up an running, and i’m looking forward to 2016. it’s funny since i wear so many scarves these days, but it wasn’t until recently (i think our move to san francisco) that i decided to give this accessory more room in my closet. i’m not sorry that i have since they are so versatile. happy new year!
