and it’s home again, home again, jiggity jig. as much fun as it is to travel there’s nothing quite like coming home. oscar and olllie were happy to see our tired faces walk in the door at 1:30 am. now we’re in preparation mode as our oldest arrives tomorrow for a visit! before i hit the floor running in athens, i’ll share a rundown of our last day in florida.
don’t worry about a full recap of my visit to K.Hovnanian’s Four Seasons at Parkland. this was a work junket, so i’ll have loads of information to share with you in several weeks, including a video. can’t wait! in the meantime, i’ll share snippets of our mad dash to delray beach, a stroll along atlantic ave, and a quick trip to sawmills mall before we zipped out of town. if you visit or live in the vicinity of fort lauderdale this outlet mall is a must. it’s ginormous (and packed with people), but we focused on the luxury stores located outside on the promenade – dolce gabbana, st. laurent, tory burch, frette, ralph lauren, tod’s to name but a few of the brands represented. and, yes, i did some damage at the ralph lauren store – i love him.
but back to our regularly scheduled program. this top was last seen worn with white denim. since then the top has sold out! similar here. but it was originally purchased for the trip to florida to wear with the matching maxi skirt which is still available. don’t forget the skirt looks terrific with a simple white tee or blouse! white sandals finish today’s ootd in a simple style similar here and here. and i grabbed a straw handbag for good measure to keep the summertime vibes alive and well.

this pinball museum called silverball is adorable. for a few bucks, you can play a wide variety of vintage pinball machines. but there are other games too like skeeball, foosball, and older arcade games. anyone remember tetris, kong or pacman? silverball also serves pizza, nachos, hot dogs, onion rings and other boardwalk snacks. it’s definitely worth a trip. silverball is located one block from atlantic ave. the main strip in delray beach. after lunch and a round of pinball mr. style and i moseyed down the road. and i do mean mosey as my leg is not moving as fast as i’d like.

here’s a quick list of the restaurants we dined at on our trip to florida: sea watch on the ocean (broiled lobster tails topped with fresh crabmeat did not disappoint. located in fort lauderdale right on the beach), true food kitchen (delicious and healthy food. located in boca raton), angelo elia pizza, bar, tapas (typical italian fare with delicious gelato. located in coral springs), deja blue (an uncomplicated mediterranean menu. it’s the ambiance that makes this restaurant so special. located in parkland).

I loved taking this vacation with you. Im unable to travel and doing so with you was a nice change for me. I think you should wear longer maxi skirts more often you look 30 lbs lighter!!!! Terrific look on you.
maxi skirts are fun to wear for a change of pace. it seems i take them on vacation as my trip to europe included a maxi skirt. isn’t it funny but i never wear outfits based on looking heavier or thinner. for me it’s all about what i like and feel comfortable in. maybe that’s one reason i have a lot of fun with style.
Such a pretty color on you. Looks like you had good weather for the trip! Or at least on this day you did! We’re bracing for Florence, the hurricane getting ready to slam us here at the end of the week. (What is it with NC and the “F” hurricanes? Fran, Floyd,… and now here comes Flo, who definitely doesn’t like us!)
Enjoy your upcoming visitor!
batten down those hatches, sue! hurricane season can be dicey. let’s quickly get passed F to G. xo
Just an FYI, the name of the mall is Sawgrass Mills. Like you, I mostly stick to the Promenade – inside the mall is SO crowded!
thanks for the correction! xo
