so many of you have asked for photos of ollie. here’s an update on our favorite maine coon kitten! it was a perfect day to hold the photo shoot indoors. first, it was raining, second, mr. style has come down with a nasty bug in spite of his yearly flu shot. flu season has hit with a vengeance this year. mr. style gets major kudos for rallying to snap his daily pics.
but oscar, ollie, and i thought it would be a good idea to rustle up some homemade chicken soup for our cameraman. and a hot toddy to boot. then send him off to bed. both are tried-and-true cold remedies. our mothers were right gang! (we always are). the chicken soup is soooo good and perfect for this time of year. it’s fast and easy by taking a shortcut with a rotisserie chicken from the supermarket. but you could start from scratch if you were so inclined. recipes are included at the end of the post.
denim | striped tee | pullover | sneakers
for all of you northern gals that are looking for ways to stay warm, this wubby pullover is for you. it’s perfect layered over a tee or lightweight sweater. it comes in a darling buffalo check pattern as well. it’s keeping me cozy on this dreary day. and i’m going casual all the way with a j.crew factory boyfriend jeans (these run big so size down) and a new pair of jazzy sneakers from target. you just never know what will end up in my cart when i run in for paper towels and toilet paper.
oscar thinks he wants a carrot. do you think he ate it?
cranberry and ginger bourbon smash | hot toddy
it’s friday gang! you know what that means. oscar and i wish each of you a lovely weekend!

If Oscar is anything like my dog Rex, he loved the carrot. Rex also likes the rib of romaine lettuce. Love the outfit and glad to see you are an apron gal like me. Where did you get it. It is very cute. I also celebrate my big 60 this year. Thank you Beth for taking my style up a notch. I have never felt this good in style and health. Bring on the 60’s. Have a wonderful weekend.
gosh, cyndi, the apron is several years old so i’m racking my brain as to where i purchased it. i want to say Sur la Table as i used to bop in there regularly back in our san francisco days. and i’ve had it since then.
we’ll be celebrating together as i head into a new decade as well! i’m with you – bring ’em.
xo
My dog Sam (a mix labrador) loves carrots (better saying he loves everything he can eat) and the little one (a mix poodle whatsover) is very peculiar with food and carrots are the only thing he eats besides his proper food (cookies don’t count). Did Oscar eat the carrot? I think he did! Your Ollie is so pretty!!
