Happy Friday, ladies. And Happy Black Friday! It’s time to get our shopping in gear as it’s eight days until Hanukkah and thirty-one days until Christmas. If you’re short on time, you will love today’s post as we’re sharing Amazon Black Friday picks. When I was growing up brick and mortar stores would open at midnight, kicking off the holiday shopping season. For whatever reason my mom never got on board with this shopping tradition, and that was passed on to yours truly. But I don’t mind one bit waking up at my regular time and hopping online to see what goodies I can have shipped directly to my door. Spanx is having 20% off, Grandin Road is offering up to 70% off sitewide, and Brooks Brothers offers 30% off sitewide plus an additional 10% off. But I’m ready to kick off the weekend. Oscar stopped by for his weekly gig, and Kelly, too. We’re whipping up a Black Russian in honor of Black Friday, and we’re snacking on pizza beans, although this girl doesn’t need any snacks for the foreseeable future… This is the weekend I transform my house into all things Christmas, and I’m looking forward to sharing with you next week. I got a jump start on my porch. Next is the Christmas tree, then the rest of the house. Even my bedroom gets a touch of Christmas as I have a tartan plaid comforter, shams, and a few Merry Christmas throw pillows. It’s time to fa la la la la right into Christmas Day!

Today, my outfit is oh-so-comfy with a black turtleneck paired with faux leather jeans (old, similar here and here) and black boots. It is Black Friday, after all… but I decided a green buffalo plaid shirt would add a pop of color while keeping the comfort factor intact. If it’s Friday, y’all know my ootd will be cute and comfy. There’s never any reason to neglect your style quotient in favor of comfort. One never knows when they have to hop in the car and run an errand or meet a friend for coffee.

It’s officially time to break out the turtlenecks! I love the tissue turtleneck from J.Crew. I have this top in several colors and prints. It’s a perennial staple and the perfect layering piece. A Sweater Vest is an easy way to add an extra layer of warmth, color, and texture to a casual outfit. And you can never go wrong with black jeans and ballet flats.
