today’s post is short and sweet as i’ve pulled a few of my favorite winter ootd’s from the archives. cause baby it’s cold outside!
this is a cashmere cape i made from fabric my sister-in-law gave me years ago. but capes and ponchos are all the rage this year. similar ones can be found here and here. a good pair of boots last for years. this pair from JCrew is several years old but are still going strong. similar ones can be found here and here.
fur, and faux fur continue to be on trend. and when do stripes ever go out of style? skirt Madewell (similar here and here); jacket tailor-made (similar here and here)
this sweater from Banana Republic is from several seasons back, but they have a newer version available. a leopard top, and a fun necklace give a casual chic boost to this understated look. labels: pants Banana Republic; top Loft (similar here); sweater Banana Republic (similar here and here); necklace JCrew (similar here and here)
this time of year i’m crazy for turtlenecks. i’ll always love a fair isle pattern to keep me looking chic. labels: pants Ann Taylor (similar here and here); sweater Banana Republic (similar here and here); boots JCrew (similar here and here)
faux fur vests keep you warm. here, i’ve doubled it as a lining to my coat. riding pants, and over the knee boots are just the sort of casual look i favor.
labels: pants Ann Taylor (similar here and here); sweater Macy’s (similar here and here); jacket Gap (similar here and here); purse Ipa Nima; boots Nine West (similar here and here)
everyone know i love blazers. velvet can’t be beat this time of year. dress them up or try them with denim – i love both looks. denim Ann Taylor; top Ann Taylor; blazer Talbots (similar here and here); shoes Banana Republic (similar here and here)
just this week this sequined skirt made an appearance on the blog. another way to wear it is with a velvet blazer, and jeweled sweater. skirt Ann Taylor (similar here and here); sweater Ann Taylor (similar here and here); blazer JCrew (similar here and here)

Great outfits! You are rockin’ the over the knee boots…wow! Glad to see Dad’s fur vest make another appearance. Love the detailing on the purple velvet blazer. The cape is fabulous…love it…
i don’t know how i missed several of your comments, but i did! my apologies. the cape is one of my favorites as the fabric was given to me by my late sister-in-law. every time i put it on i think of her. just like my fur vest that was my dad’s.
merry christmas!
