every once in awhile we are given the opportunity to shine a light upon a worthy cause. today is such a day. almost 27 years ago i lost my father to cancer. he was diagnosed at the very young age of 45. but fought 10 valiant years until his war against this deadly and debilitating disease was finally lost. but i’m happy to report that during his long and heroic fight he was able to walk me down the aisle, and welcome 2 of my sons into this world. but, oh, how i wish he were here today to see how they’ve grown into such fine young men. he would have been so proud of them. how i wish he could have beat this disease. i also tragically lost my sister-in-law to ovarian cancer two years ago at the age of 58… yes, cancer is a devastating disease, and can be a killer. but there is hope. if you are like me, and have seen a loved one suffer from this all too common disease – this post is for you.
today, i am wrapped in the hue of hope. the color purple is the official color of the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge, and is also the color of Ming Wang’s limited edition scarf wrap. each wrap is soft and luxurious and is the perfect accessory to stay stylish and warm in autumn temps. the lovely wrap i am wearing today is called the Hope Scarf Wrap and is sold from Ming Wang’s fall 2015 collection. Ming Wang is graciously partnering with Hope Lodge and adding a bit of comfort by donating a scarf to each patient when one is purchased. Retailing at $125, draped or wrapped, these scarves are warm and cheerful, lifting the spirits of those on the road to recovery. ming wang can be found at over 250 specialty boutiques across the country, and online and in-stores at nordstrom, dillard’s and von maur department stores.
The American Cancer Society Hope Lodge® facilities offer cancer patients and their caregivers a place to stay when receiving treatment away from home. Always free, the Hope Lodge program provides nurturing and support across all of its 31 locations.

Lovely wrap, and the story behind it is even better!
My oldest sister died of cancer, and my mom, dad, and sister are in remission right now. So this is very close to my heart.
this disease strikes far too many! i am so sorry for the loss of your sister. hugs to you and yours that are in remission.

The color is beautiful on you! And the cause is very dear to my heart as well having lost both of my parents to cancer (both in their 50’s). Thank you for this post!
