And it’s Friday again! How did that happen? This week went by in the blink of an eye. The weather was a mixed bag this week, with temperatures reaching 80 degrees and falling back into the 50s. My dogwood is in bloom, and there are buds on many of my perennial plants, but the weather could dip below freezing next week, so I’m worried they’ll suffer frostbit. Oh, spring is a fickle season. One never knows what to expect or what to wear… but we have a festive menu this week. I’m testing out new brunch recipes as yours truly is hosting Easter brunch.

How I’m Hosting Easter Brunch
1. Open Cardigan
(Ann Taylor)
Today’s outfit is perfect for spring-like temps. Love the open cardigan that’s lightweight yet adds warmth if needed. I’m all about infusing color into my wardrobe this year.
Since pink is hands down my favorite color, I decided a pink stripe lightweight sweater from J.McLaughlin was in order. It matches perfectly with the cropped flare denim from Frame and the cardigan from Ann Taylor.
Is it too soon to step into sandals? Not if the thermostat reads 80 degrees. Out came my pink braided sandals from Dolce Vita that are available in 2023.ย

2. Espresso Martini
3. Baked Blueberry Pancackes
4. Easter Table
The easter bunnies and easter eggs have been hauled out of storage and will be front and center for the next few weeks. The dining room is getting ready for the big day as I’m testing out place settings as well as recipes.
Although Ollie has already misplaced several of the speckled eggs, I had added to the moss nests… never a dull moment with that one. But the designer eggs on the white pedestals and wooden eggs tucked inside the egg cups are safe and sound only because they’re too big! Kids and pets.ย ย

Thanks for that yummy, yet easy to prepare, baked blueberry recipe. Iโm definitely making this for breakfast tomorrow morning! And, Iโm pretty sure itโll make another appearance at Easter, too.
Weโve been having swings in the weather here but youโre warmer than southern Missouri. Flowers and trees are blooming. Like you, Iโm concerned that one or two upcoming low temp nights will damage many plants and budding trees.
I envy your weather there. Still in my weather proof boots in light coat hair in Minnesota. Lots of snow and had a snow storm yesterday and one is on the way tomorrow. Wish I could wear sandals. Come on Spring. Cute outfit. I have something very similar in my closet. I could pull out if the weather would cooperate. I do want to decorate for Easter. Maybe in a couple weeks. Have a great weekend . Hi Oscar and Ollie.
Hi Sherry, we live in England and we have had snow too. I’m still in Boots, socks and coats too, and we have the heating on. Oh to live somewhere warmer, kind regards Julie
The recipes look wonderful! Can’t wait to try them. How many servings does each recipe make (before doubling or tripling?)
We had chocolate espresso martinis for Christmas dinner with chocolate vodka that tasted fantastic! The only problem was I couldnโt fall asleep until 5am the next morning!! That will be perfect for brunch. Say hi to handsome Oscar for meโค๏ธ
The baked blueberry pancakes sounds like a winner! Definitely will be trying that one soon. Very pretty tablescape and Easter decorations. Happy weekend to you, Oscar and Ollie!
Keep warm Julie. I was telling a friend today. I can hardly wait to get a pedicure and wear sandals. Has been a snowy winter and so much ice. Bless you.
Brunch is my favorite meal either for entertaining or meeting friends. . You can dress it up or dress it down. I am always looking for new brunch recipes and will be trying both of these. Your table looks so Cheerful and your Playlist is perfect – my kind of music. Enjoy your weekend
