when it comes to planning a trip picking your outfits is at the top of the to-do list. yesterday, i shared my style formula of how i put outfits together. but i would be remiss if i didn’t talk about how to travel with accessories. because even when we’re on va-cay and suitcase space is at a premium, it’s a great time to accessorize and a great excuse to expand your jewelry wardrobe to include fashion jewelry. it’s fun to dress up even your most basic travel outfit. for those of you who like to pack light opt to pack fewer clothes and bring more fun accessories instead! and since you’re sticking to less expensive jewelry, go ahead and add a few trendy pieces.
for most leisure travel, the simple rule is don’t bring anything you’re going to worry about losing. it’s best to leave items of monetary or emotional value at home. and that might even include your wedding rings or statement watch. because when you travel with expensive, irreplaceable jewelry, you tend to worry about the simplest things. like taking your rings off to wash your hands and forgetting said pile of rings next to the sink…
so i’m thrilled to partner with Victoria Emerson today to share a few key pieces that are perfect to throw into your suitcase. and it’s a perfect time to shop their Valentine’s Day Sale from 2.12 through 2.18. one thing i’ve noticed with Victoria Emerson jewelry is that it doesn’t tangle. can i hear an amen?! and every. single. bracelet. comes with a jewelry pouch which makes packing a breeze.
denim | turtleneck | coat | similar boots | similar handbag | watch | black bracelet | white bracelet
for my trip, i chose a white wrap bracelet, black wrap bracelet, watch, and a boho cuff bracelet for good measure.
even cold weather outfits deserve a little bling. and Victoria Emerson doesn’t disappoint. the white wrap bracelet is clearly visible in spite of the layers.

there are lots and lots of boho cuffs to choose from in a variety of color palettes at Victoria Emerson. it takes the guesswork out of stacking your bracelets. but enamel bracelets are on trend these days, so consider adding one or two to your collection. if you want to add bright colors to your outfit, the Ivy Stack is a good choice.
don’t forget that you’re taking a vacation to relax and have fun. it’s important to get away from your daily routine from time to time. so keep jewelry simple and inexpensive, so it doesn’t add stress or worries.
a big thank you to Victoria Emerson for this sponsored post. and thank you, lovely readers, for supporting the brands that allow me to bring you fresh ideas.

You are beautiful from top of head to bottom of jacket and then weird things happen.
hmmmm, boots and denim are standard for me. even white denim during winter. maybe the black boots are throwing you off. but i love a blue and black combo borrowed from the boys.
I have to agree with Nancy. I think it’s the cut of the boot and pants. My attention immediately goes
to where the pants and boots intersect. I think I would prefer a pant that didn’t bunch or a boot that is a
little roomier at the top.
But we can all agree that you’re stunning regardless. 😍
over the knee boots look different than the traditional knee high boot. especially if you tuck in your jeans. but if you want to stay warm in the winter i’ll go with otk every time. but, hey. go with what works for YOU.
Great tip to take photos of the jewelry. Always careful about what I bring but hadn’t thought of that. Would be so useful if something happened.
it’s so easy to snap photos these days with our phone! then store them in our library.
I also take very little jewelry on vacation—just one statement necklace that will go with my evening outfits. Then I buy an interesting bracelet or two as I travel to complement my clothes and to have a souvenir from the destination. Easy to carry and fun to wear when I get back home!
it’s always fun to purchase jewelry on vacation. every time you wear your purchase you’re reminded of your trip.
Great tips on organizing and packing jewelry! Mine always end up in a tangled mess!
it’s so easy for those necklaces to get tangled. and sooooo hard to untangle them. glad you liked the tips.
Great travel tips Beth. I never take my rings off when I wash my hands, they are safer there. Also, would high leather boots be rather hot on your feet especially if you are sitting quite a long time. You look great Beth as always!
thanks, mollie! are you thinking this is an airport travel outfit? i typically wear something more comfy. this outfit is geared for a cold weather destination.
Love the furry-snood-y thing here! And great color combo. I still marvel that in almost 15 years of intense travel all over creation, I never once lost a single thing. I attribute that to my intense focus on organization and a never-fail routine of checking and re-checking on everything before I ever left a hotel, etc. Your organizing tips are spot on. We’re supposed to go from 73 degrees to the low 20’s this weekend–so I’ll need my own snood-y thing soon! 😉
it’s actually a scarf that i’ve had since our shanghai, china days! it keeps me toasty warm. can you believe this weather? no wonder we’re all getting sick.
amazing outfit
thanks so much for stopping by!
Love your neck wrap!!!!
I always follow your style of minimal, go with everything jewelry for travel. Takes all kinds of stress of my shoulders even not worrying about storing in the room safe, or even more simply what to wear.
If you can’t find/afford a roll, an alternative is an eyeglass case with a microfibre eyeglass cleaner. Prevents crushing and easy to store..but yes, minimal.
You look rested already, Beth, enjoy.
that’s a great travel tip. thanks so much for sharing!
You always look so pretty and polished ! Love that bag, i guess its an older one ? The substitute isn’t quite as nice as yours …
it is an older handbag. one of my favorites from Ralph Lauren.
Hi Beth! I have travelled extensively for business and p,easure. I purchased a Vera Bradley bathroom organizer and put necklaces, bracelets and earrings in the pouches. Then the case can be hung up for easy access to jewlery.
great tip, karen. thanks so much for sharing.
