Hello, Ladies, happy Thursday. Fashion is an adventure! I took a plunge this week into the fashion waters of Capri pants. I will be the first to admit that while I have always loved the vintage look of pedal pushers and Capri pants, I never thought they’d work for my height. Plus, up until this season, Capri length pants felt a little dated. A closed-minded and dated outlook on my part, to be sure. Sometimes it takes a little outfit inspiration to have one’s mind changed! At least that’s what happened for me this week.
Today, Kelly shares how she is styling Capri pants

I am sure it’s no surprise to you that we spend quite a bit of time researching fashion trends and much of my days are spent seeing page upon page of models on brand websites wearing items that I know will never look as great on me. Then I came across the new arrivals at J.Crew and included in the line up were the Kate Capri Pants in Stretch Linen.
They looked fantastic on the model and though I knew I would never wear the Kate Capri Pants with a string bikini top like one of the models (LOL), I did think I might be able to pull them off with the matching Helena Blazer in Stretch Linen already in my closet. So I gave it the old college try.
And wow! I am so happy I did because this might be my new favorite way to wear a suit in the summertime! With students heading back to classes, I feel like the “cool” teacher in my stretch linen ensemble. A perfect back-to-school, or summertime-at-the-office outfit, I feel so confident, on trend, and put-together in this outfit.
I like to mix suits with casual tops like tees and this Ribbed Tee with Contrast Trim is a little elevated in its fitted structure and the contrast stitching adds an interesting detail and subtle pop of color.
Before I get too far along here, I know that these exact pieces are selling out and your size might be sold out. But both the Helena Blazer in Stretch Linen and Kate Capri Pant are available in other colors.
I came up with three other Capri/Blazer combinations that are similar to what I am sharing today. Find those three other outfit options below. Pair any of the ensembles with a tee like the Ribbed Tee with Contrast Trim or go for something a little different like the Lace Trim Halter Top, or the Striped Funnel Neck Shell, both from Talbots.

Linea Paolo is one of my favorite affordable shoe brands. The craftsmanship and quality of materials is always top-notch and all of my Linea Paolo shoes have lasted me for many years. Plus, I find that their shoes are incredibly wearable and comfortable. The same is true for the Edith Wedge Sandal.
And then a perfect tote for work is the Essential Bucket Tote. Even with my daily purse essentials, I can slide my 15-inch MacBook Air into it with ease. I love Madewell bags, I cannot recommend them enough. I have more than a dozen Madewell bags and many of them I have had for over a decade. Reasonably priced and very well-made, if you don’t already have one, definitely check out Madewell Bags!

Kelly, you look sharp and fashionable in that suited look. I like the other ways you have shown how to wear capris too.

Kelly, your ensemble is tres chic. Love the other suggestions especially the one with the Rothys. You out do yourself every week.
Thank you, Judy! I really love Rothy’s! I have several of their shoe and handbag styles in multiple colors and patterns. They are pricey, but they will last, and they clean up like brand new in the washing machine – so worth the investment! Thanks for stopping by today, xo Kelly
