It’s been a minute since I’ve shared a makeup tutorial with you. So I thought we’d kick off 2023 with a fresh look at makeup for mature women, an annual tradition over here on the blog.
I’m definitely not a makeup artist but I get the job done. A key step of getting ready in the morning and stepping out the door in confidence is how we put our makeup on. It’s important to stay modern, fresh, and relevant and that includes our makeup.
So today, I'm including the products I'm using this year, as well as a look at my routine.

This year, I’m using a wide range of products from L’Oreal to Nars to Milani. I’m always on the hunt for new lipsticks or primers that help our mature skin look its best.
Mature women have different skincare and beauty needs than younger women. I’m thrilled brands like L’Oreal created the Age Perfect Makeup Line formulated with vitamins, SPF, and hydrating serums specifically for mature skin. Many other brands are following suit.
I've pulled together a full, shoppable list below.
My makeup routine has remained pretty stable and consistent throughout the years. But I've put it all together in order of application in a pinnable or downloadable card below.

Hi Beth. What under eye concealers do you recommend? I’m unhappy with my attempts to cover up the dark shadows caused by protruding eye bags.
A few of my favorites are Kosas, Beauty Pie and L’Oreal. Undereye concealer can be tricky to wear so I try to use a light hand and place the concealer on the inside of the lower eye.
I absolutely love the L’Oreal Age Perfect balm! Their primer is quite nice too….
That Balm is one of my all-time favorites! So light and airy.
Beth, what eyeshadow primer do you use? Several I’ve tried just make my eyelids look crepe-y so I’m on the hunt for a better product. Love the blog!
