fridays with oscar | sales blitz

are you ready for the granddaddy of all sales? well, the Anniversary sale has begun. and with it, lot’s of terrific fall items are available at sale prices. remember, this sale is a marathon – three weeks in length – but the highest traffic days are opening day, the day after and the first day the sale opens to the public. yes, in order to shop early access you must be a Nordstrom cardmember. if not the sale opens to the public on July 20th.

there are thousands of items on sale. 304 pairs of shoes, 102 booties, 135 boots, 48 blazers, 414 coats & jackets, you get the drill. so i’ll slice and dice the sale and share what’s caught my eye. are you ready? and don’t worry, oscar (and ollie) are happy to take a backseat this week while we go shopping.

the anniversary sale is a great time to stock up on accessories. handbags, boots, and shoes are my first choices.

this Longchamp tote is a classic favorite. a reversible tote from MCM is quite practical. Brahmin is a fantastic handbag brand. but i own this particular handbag from Frye and carry it all winter long.

booties and boots get a ton of mileage from September all the way through March. Hunter rain boots are a must-have for inclement weather. Marc Fisher is a brand that stays on trend at a great price point.

shoes, shoes, and more shoes. because what woman doesn’t love shoes? and for good reason. shoes make or break your outfit. they’re also an easy way to stay on trend without breaking the bank.

even if you live in Florida, California or Arizona, it’s a good idea to keep one coat hanging in your closet. a trip to Minnesota just might in your future. 

it’s fun being a girl, especially when wearing a dress. here are my picks.

separates are a practical choice as they can be mixed and matched to your heart’s content. tops, skirts, and pants all have a home in my closet.
