Happy April, gang! As I type, the landscape crew is here for the BIG spring clean-up. I’m adding sod to the front yard, tweaking a few trees and shrubs, and getting both the front and back yards in tip-top condition. This is the time of year I love to spend outside. At night, I’ll crank up the fire pit and sit outside, watching the birds flit to and fro. There’s nothing better than a dose of nature to improve your well-being. Recipes and Outfits Perfect for Spring
Kelly and I are kicking off April with a refreshing Spanish-style gin and tonic with an ice cube that’s a work of art. And a perfect spring meal of salmon, asparagus, and smashed potatoes. I don’t know about you, but if there’s a smashed potato in the recipe, there’s a 99.9% chance I will LOVE it. Give me all the smashed potatoes all the time. Okay, at least once in a while, as my waistline might alter drastically if I ate them every day…
White Denim
A great weekend outfit starts with a chambray shirt that you can wear solo or as a third layer over a tee. Since I never met a stripe I didn’t like (like the smashed potatoes), it’s only fitting that I reached for a striped tee for contrast and texture.

Spanish-Style Gin & Tonic
What makes this cocktail a Spanish-style gin and tonic? Well, it's all in the ice cubes! Large cubes are made by freezing juniper berries, a lime twist, and a rosemary sprig in the cube. When the final drink is garnished with grapefruit and lime slices, you have a gorgeous-looking (and tasting!) cocktail, refreshing and perfect for spring!
