it’s happening. nordstrom’s half-yearly sale! now through june 4th shop the grande dame of department stores for substantial savings. one of the best (and worst) features of department stores is the variety of brands it offers. if you are a shopper that knows what she likes, then this is one-stop shopping like no other. lingerie – check, beauty counter – check, children’s – check, restaurant – check, burberry – check. on the other hand, if the mere sight of four stories chock full of merchandise sends your heart into palpitations, well, i feel your pain. but of all the department stores to choose from, nordstrom does an excellent job with visual merchandising. and stays abreast of its inventory, keeping it fresh and current. both my shoes and dress seen above hail from nordstrom – louise et cie and eileen fisher. even though nordstrom doesn’t claim athens as one of its store locations, never fear. this retail giant has me covered with free shipping both ways. gotta love shopping online at 9pm in the comfort of my p.j.’s while sipping a glass of wine…
