Happy Friday, ladies! It’s been a stormy week here in Georgia, with daily downpours. Our Fourth of July was a washout, at least the fireworks portion, as thunderstorms rumbled and roared their way through town, commencing around 7 pm that evening. That’s how the entire week has gone; the sun is playing hide and seek with rainstorms. My hydrangeas and roses are happy campers, so I shan’t complain. Although the project to add a sprinkler system to my backyard has had more than one delay this week due to stormy weather. Fingers crossed, the sun will shine ALL day today, and the landscaping crew can pack up their gear and head home. The good news is that the grass doesn’t mind the delay with the sprinkler system since mother nature has stepped up her game! The backyard looks lush and green and is thriving from all the rain. But I’m sighing a sign of relief as next week’s weather forecast is sunshine and more sunshine with temps in the 90s. We have summer outfits that work rain or shine; for Kelly, it’s Spanx Pants and Linen Shorts, for me.
And never fear. The rain isn’t putting a damper on Fridays with Oscar. My best buddy stopped by for his photo shoot, although he might have been disappointed that steak wasn’t on the menu this week… Instead, Kelly whipped up a delicious Chicken Pesto Quesadilla and chose a Frozen Negroni for our cocktail. The three-season porch is open for business rain or shine and is honestly one of my favorite spots in the house. It’s perfect for entertaining!

J.Crew always has a nice selection of short sleeve and long-sleeve linen blouses in a variety of colors. Today, I added a belt (old, similar here, here, and here) to my outfit for contrast. I slipped into a pair of buckle slides with a block heel from J.McLaughlin. A huge trend this season. If you’re looking for shoes or sandals with height but comfort, a block heel is the way to go!

I love this Bowtie Linen Tank Top from J.Crew because it takes a simple linen tank up a notch with its ribbon bow tie shoulder straps. Based on reviews, I ordered a size down and it fits perfectly, without gaping arm holes. Wear a strapless bra and you’re good to go!
My slides are the Canvas and Leather Slides from J.Crew, which has not only restocked them this year, but they’ve added a new color. They are available in black, rich oak, and ivory. They’re a great two-tone slide that will go with just about anything in your closet!

Frozen Negroni
Kelly and I often order a Negroni when we go out and what fun to take this favorite cocktail and turn it into a refreshing summer slushy cocktail!
