today is a very special post and a little out of the ordinary for this style blogger. since the inception of the blog, my intention was to strictly focus on an ootd (outfit of the day) and i’ve done just that. but i have an announcement to make as styleatacertainage has recently relocated from the foggy hills of san francisco, ca to the wooded lanes of athens, georgia. this has been a decision based on many factors, and i’m certain many of you will wonder how we could just up and relocate from one very diverse city to the next. but if you’ve lived around the world in big cities like shanghai or a small island called guam, you’ll understand we could probably (and have) live just about anywhere. undoubtedly, we are very excited about the next chapter of our life. we’re back in a house with a yard (oscar is pretty much in heaven, although he did dig a hole in the backyard…) with lots of design opportunities both inside and out. it may be hard for you to believe, but interior design is my first love and i’m chomping at the bit to roll up my sleeves and get my new little house in order. stay tuned as i might be sharing our progress with all of you lovely readers! of course, san francisco is still very much a part of our lives – our oldest son resides in the bay area – we’ll be back and forth. who wouldn’t have loved living there the past 4 years?! it’s the city where the blog was born and served as a never-ending source of inspiration. but as we all know life is ever-changing and we are thrilled to call athens our new home. my brother has already dubbed me the ‘greek peach.’ thanks, big brother! so settle back and enjoy this brief montage of athens as we roamed from the rooftop of georgia theater to the campus of UGA. two of my kiddos even agreed to a rare appearance on the blog.

Good Morning Beth! You will love Athens! We lived in Augusta for many years and loved it. Our oldest son lives there with his family so we are there often. We also love Calif. and lived not too far from San Francisco. So we were movers too, but finally settled back in TX where we started from. I retired from Interior Design work about five years ago but you never really stop. With friends, family and life long clients the work is never done. We also downsized and that has been a process of a new life style. I will be thinking of you and looking forward to your new posts from the beautiful state of Georgia! Best Regards, Judith
thanks, judith! we lived in texas twice, and thought long and hard about austin, tx before we settled on athens. i’ll have to pick your brain for some design tips! downsizing is a process but once you’re there it feels good – i guess we are doing a little upsizing since we lived in a two bedroom apartment for 4 years…

How exciting! Change is always good and I am looking forward to following you on this fun adventure. Wishing you only the best!

What exciting news! Have fun decorating your new house! Would love it if you took us along on a tour sometime! 🙂
Too bad we never made that lunch happen though while you were in SF!
i am sad we didn’t make lunch happen, but i’ll be back in sf so we will just have to squeeze it in this time!

Nothing is more fun than Athens during football season!! Can’t wait to see your tailgating outfits! Time to pull out the red and black!!
it’s a good thing red is one of my favorite colors! i’m looking forward to football season and tailgating. we were just looking at the schedule yesterday planning on a family outing.

Beth, Welcome home! I live in Athens!!! I grew up in this area and have never wanted to leave. I hope that you will love it just as much. I have followed your blog for a while, commented once or twice, but now I really hope that I can meet you in person!
hi christa! or should i say hello neighbor! send me an email at styleatacertainage@gmail.com and we can talk about lunch.

I just clicked over from Wardrobe Oxygen and was looking through your pictures and thought “that looks like Athens” and it was! Welcome! I’ve lived here off an on (mostly on) since 1991– somehow I keep ending up back here. It looks like you’ve already scouted out some great locations so I think you’ll love it! If you ever need anything, drop me a line!
hi leandra!
somehow, i missed this comment! thanks so much for letting me know you are a fellow athenian? (is this what we call ourselves?) i’m always up for lunch and meeting new friends.
xoxo beth
Wait a second. I just found out about your move. Had breakfast with Une Femme for her birthday and she told me about your move. Now why Athens Georgia? What drew you there? Can’t wait to here. So sorry I missed you when you were in LA. Maybe we can coordinate when you’re in SF. Looking forward to seeing Athens!
i was so disappointed not hear from you when I landed in LA! maybe next time.
xoxo beth
I don’t know both of the cities and would like to know why this city, if the question is not too personal. I first thought Athens in Greece!
After a very hectic winter and spring I’m finally catching up on posts! I may have said this else where, but best of luck in your new location. I’ve heard that Athens is a wonderful town!
