Whether you want to rock a double denim look or pair your favorite denim jacket with a flirty skirt, the key is to mix different washes, textures, and styles for a dynamic and eye-catching ensemble. Try layering a distressed denim jacket over a sleek dress or pairing bright white jeans with a classic blue denim shirt for a modern twist on a timeless favorite. Don't be afraid to play with different combinations until you find the perfect balance that reflects your personality and fashion sense.
The key to accessorizing denim is to keep it simple yet impactful. Consider adding a statement belt to cinch your waist and add a flair to your outfit. Play with bold jewelry, such as chunky bracelets or layered necklaces. Don't forget the power of a chic hat or stylish sunglasses to elevate your look and protect you from the sun. Experiment with different handbags or clutches to add color or texture to your outfit.
One of the things I love most about a great pair of jeans is its versatility. It can go from work to the weekend or day to night; the key is the details. Consider swapping out your daytime accessories for more statement pieces, like bold earrings or a metallic clutch, to elevate your look instantly. Layering a blazer or structured jacket over your denim can transform your outfit from casual to cocktail-ready. By incorporating these easy swaps and paying attention to the little details, you can seamlessly transition your denim look from day to night.
With the right styling, denim can work for everyone, regardless of shape or size. When it comes to different body types, there are a few key tips to keep in mind to ensure your denim outfits are flattering and stylish. For those with a pear-shaped body, consider high-waisted jeans to accentuate your waist and elongate your legs. If you have an hourglass figure, opt for a well-fitted pair of jeans that hug your curves in all the right places.
For those with an apple-shaped body, look for jeans with a bit of stretch to provide comfort and flexibility. If you have a more athletic build, try boyfriend jeans or wide-leg denim, to add volume and shape to your silhouette. For petite frames, consider cropped jeans to show off your legs and add the illusion of height.
The options for trendy denim cuts and fits for the summer of 2024 are endless. From wide-leg jeans to cuffed jeans to flare jeans, there is a style to suit every preference. Experiment with different cuts and fits to find the perfect silhouette that makes you feel confident and stylish. Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and try something new – you might just discover your new favorite denim look.

I own several pairs of wide-leg jeans. I love these white Ann Taylor wide-leg jeans and these J.Crew wide-leg sailor jeans with patch pockets. Pair wide-leg jeans with fitted tops, such as bodysuits, tank tops, fitted tees, or tailored blouses, to offset the loose silhouette. You can also wear boxy tops, like cropped tees or sweaters. Tuck in your shirt to accentuate your waist and make you look taller and slimmer. Wear a cropped or fitted jacket with wide-leg jeans so that the top portion of your body is more fitted and creates balance. Avoid oversized jackets.
For a casual look, you can pair wide-leg jeans with a basic t-shirt or tank top and sneakers, a lightweight sweater and sandals, or a blouse and mules. For a dressier look, try wearing wide-leg pants with a tailored blazer and heels, a silk blouse, and wedges.
As with any trend, it’s first introduced two to three years before it becomes a mainstay. But cuffed denim is having a moment and I’m here for it. Honestly, you can style this denim trend a million ways, but I like it with a simple white button-up and metallic sandals. Or, for a casual look, try a white ribbed tank and thong sandals.
As you may know, white jeans used to be relegated from Memorial Day to Labor Day. A very short season indeed! These days, white denim can be worn 365 days a year. For a simple summer outfit pair flare denim with an on-trend vest for a casual chic look that will turn heads!
I know they look a bit weird at first, but horseshoe jeans or barrel jeans are a surprisingly flattering style for most of us. Like the boyfriend jeans we have come to know and love, they’re quite forgiving on the hips because they’re roomy in that area before tapering in to become narrower at the ankle. But not too narrow. And barrel jeans are flattering for people with pear or hourglass body shapes because the looser fit skims the thighs.
I know many women of a certain age will be a bit scared that, due to the shape of these jeans, they’d look best worn with a top tucked into the waistband, and that is true. But fear not, as another trend we’re seeing this year is for the more boxy T‑shirt or a cropped jacket. So go ahead and give it a whirl!
Let me count the ways I love straight-leg jeans, which flatter every body type. Wear them with a tee, blazer, and sandals for a daytime look or a silk blouse and scarf for a chic evening look.
I grew up in the '70s, a groovy decade, complete with paisley prints, midi skirts, and—you guessed it—flared jeans. They’re back! Flared jeans can be worn with everything from a casual T-shirt to a blazer. There is no wrong silhouette here. Oversized sweaters, cropped tops, you name it—it works!
My favorite look right now is to pair flared jeans with a tailored blazer, which is a mix of classic and edgy. Even a fitted tee with a slouchy blazer works here. Another modern way to wear flared jeans is to pair them with cropped jackets and statement accessories like a designer belt and matching bag. Or keep it classic—with a twist—by tucking in a crisp white blouse and turning up the collar.
This silhouette is by far my favorite! And Madewell just might have the perfect pair of cropped flare jeans I’ve ever owned! The perfect length is right above the ankle. When in doubt wear block heeled shoes. Cropped flare jeans, a statement top, and fun heels are an easy combination.
Cargo jeans have become cool again. Gone are the baggy, utilitarian looks with bulky pockets. This new iteration of cargo jeans feature sleek silhouettes and seam details that update the style in a fresh and chic way.
