okay, who’s ready for a conference rewind? to be honest, i’m still a little sleep deprived of two back to back trips, seminars, meet and greets, and cocktail parties. my travel days started bright and early at 3:30 am to catch morning flights… but what an absolute treat to meet all of the talented men and women behind the scenes who bring the blog sphere to light each and every day! i came away from the experience with a few new best practices and new friendships to boot. now that’s a win/win in my book. who did i meet? some of my favorite bloggers i’ve been following the past couple of years – deb boland from Fabulous after 40, alison gary from Wardrobe Oxygen, erin busbee from Busbee Style. and some newbies like Cathy from Bay Area Fashionista, Rekay Woo from Rekay Style that made the trek from Korea, and Maria from Looking Stylish that hails from England.
so let’s get this recap party started. first up, the rewardStyle conference in Dallas, TX. let me back up for a moment for those of you who aren’t familiar with rewardStyle. this is a tech company that hosts an annual conference that includes brand meetings, classroom sessions, and networking events. each year, they invite the top 200 bloggers associated with rewardStyle. being invited is kind of a big deal, and i wouldn’t be there if i didn’t have amazing support from my readers every step of the way. so thank you, for all of your love and encouragement!
outfit #1 | pool party
last week i devoted a blog post to this ootn. but this is what i wore to the conference kick-off party held at the Crescent Hotel by the pool. there wasn’t a lick of shade anywhere to be seen with temps hovering around 90 degrees and 90% humidity. even in a sleeveless dress, the heat was hard to beat. can you say HOT! you’ll notice i’m not wearing my fab pearls at the actual party. guess who forgot to pack them?
labels: dress Ralph Lauren; shoes Gucci; clutch Lei-Lei
outfit #2 | classroom sessions, brand meetings
friday morning kicked off bright and early at 8 am with breakfast and much-needed coffee. then it was off to the Main Stage where panels of experts shared their expertise and knowledge about the state of blogging 2017. afterward, there were brand meetings and classroom seminars to attend. i opted to keep my ootd simple, feminine but business oriented. and nothing’s better to pack and go than knitwear. this matching skirt and sweater are by missoni that i’ve owned for years and love to pull out of the closet when the occasion calls for it.
labels: skirt Missoni (old, similar Missoni); sweater Missoni (old, similar Missoni); shoes Ferragamo; pink suede pumps J.Crew (old, similar pink pumps and pink pumps)
outfit #3 | cocktail party
many of you remember this dress i trotted out last month when mr. style and i visited charleston. it was perfect for an outdoor event held in the atrium of the Crescent Hotel. again, this is an item that’s been in my closet for several years but i’m always happy to keep it in reserve for those special moments.
labels: dress Diane Von Furstenberg (old, similar dvf and here); shoes J.Crew (old, similar here and here); handbag Halsbbrook
outfit #4 | classroom sessions, brand meetings
this dress from st. john was featured this past week on the blog so i won’t go into much detail except it was the perfect choice for a day filled to the brim with meetings. and an animal print is always on trend
labels: dress St. John (old, similar here and here); shoes Zara (similar here and here); handbag (old, similar here and here)
outfit #5 | black tie optional
who would not love a dress designed by carolina herrera? to be certain when you’re shelling out major cashola for a dress then it should btrend-proof. and i think this beautiful emerald dress comes close. the only amount of pizazz is seen in the back with a navy blue bow.
labels: dress Carolina Herrera (old, similar here and here); shoes J.Crew (old similar here and here)
outfit #6 | Fohr Card
new york city with cold and dreary last week. so i needed an outfit that would withstand the weather and keep me looking chic. black ruffled skirt and camp shirt to the rescue. but i exchanged the sandals for leopard pumps and threw on my trusty moto jacket for added warmth.
labels: skirt Ann Taylor; shirt Ralph Lauren (old, similar here); moto jacket Ann Taylor (old, similar here and here); shoes J.Crew (similar here); handbag Michael Kors (old, similar here and here)
for those of you who like watching a video, instead of reading a blog post i’ve created a recap of the conference over on youTube. if you like it please let me know. this is a new venture that mr. style and i are working on and we aim to keep upping our game. but you gotta start somewhere!

Great recap of the conferences you attended. I love your videos as your speaking voice and presentation manner are very pleasant and smooth. Your outfits are wonderful, I also love a clean line with great accessories. I think you made a very flattering decision with your new hairstyle. One thing I would also love you to mention is your choice of lipstick with your outfits (I am a lipstick nut!)
same here
good reminder, rebecca! i’ve been forgetting to add the lipstick shades on the blog… i will do my best to remember.

Enjoyed the video update. The outfits were beautiful and you have a wonderful style. Loving the new haircut by the way. Where is the cute pink straw bag from in your day 2 outfit? It is adorable.
thanks, becky! i’m loving the new do too. the handbag was purchased when we lived in Vietnam by a company called Ipa Nima. but i just saw a similar one over at Talbots. go check it out.

You two are rockin’ it with your videos. Kudos to Mr Style. I love the streamlined outfits–they’re all things I’d have worn in a heartbeat. Very nice. And good to hear you’re getting recognition for the blog–you’re doing all the right things and making the best of networking, which is critical. The green dress is season-spanning, too–I loved it.
isn’t this shade of green stunning? i think i need to add more of the color into my wardrobe.
youTube is a different ballgame altogether, but we’re having fun learning some new things! i didn’t think i wanted to get involved with editing, but that’s the most intriguing aspect to me. go figure!

Good Morning- Who is the blogger in the picture of you in the green dress with the blogger from Fab After Forty? This woman also has on a green dress I think with a white sweater over her dress and brown hair? Also is there anywhere a list of bloggers over 40 who participated in the conference? Would love to discover some new reads. You looked fabulous in every single picture. I think I need to restart my blog, I miss blogging. Thank you.
hi nancy,
on the blog i listed several bloggers that attended the conference (all over 40), including Maria from Looking Stylish. Maria hails from the UK and is absolutely adorable.
xoxo
You packed very well for your two events. No much could help with the heat and humidity in Texas. I think I had seen most of the outfits except for the emerald dress. Tres chic! Great color on you and I love the shoes. I follow Maria’s blog. She came across the pond to be with all y’all. That’s Texas-speak for all of you lovely ladies…ha! xoxo
maria is absolutely lovely! i was so happy to meet her and so many others at the conference. yup, it was hot, hot, hot the first day then chilly, chilly, chilly on the last. oh, texas!
xoxo
Your looks were impeccable Beth ! its hard to pick a favourite but on my top 3 is the emerald CH dress-
CH knows a thing or two about dresses! love that shade of green.
