more than one reader has written asking for a europe wardrobe recap. many of you are venturing on journey’s of your own this summer and throwing together capsule wardrobes too. what made my list of travel must-have’s? this is what i packed for a two-week trip to europe. i picked a simple color palette to make my wardrobe decisions easy while traveling – black and white. next, i packed two tops for every bottom. and i threw in four pairs of shoes and three jackets in case of inclement weather.
let’s take a peek at the items that made their way into my suitcase. guess what? my suitcase weighed two pounds less than mr. style’s! that’s right, mine weighed a whopping forty pounds compared to mr. style’s forty-two pounder. when does that happen?! and i was so happy i had a fairly lightweight suitcase because it’s not always easy schlepping around europe with a suitcase in tow and stairs beckoning you to venture up more than one flight.

Great post with excellent tips. You were able to fit a lot into your bag. I love seeing how others pack for trips. Happy Father’s Day to Mr Style and enjoy the weekend!
mr. style had a wonderful day spent in st. simon’s island! hope you enjoyed your weekend, sue.

You chose a great palette for travel. I think you missed some pieces though or picked some up along the way. It was like putting together a puzzle for me, trying to find the pieces in your outfits!–They weren’t always what you packed, LOL!! I wish the Marc Jacobs sport bag came in a smaller size. It is a lot larger than I thought it would be.
can you believe i only bought two handbags and one scarf? i added those to the white tee, white denim, and denim duster outfit. otherwise, everything i packed was featured. keep in mind we didn’t take photos of every outfit i wore over the course of two weeks. i had to have some fun while on vacay!

Love the travel wardrobe. Curious as to whether you have used any other color combinations for a travel wardrobe?
hi meg! yes, but i tend to always pack neutral color schemes. white and black or white and camel. i love bold colors but they’re a bit trickier to pack for an extended vacation.

Thanks Beth – love the blog and hearing about your adventures. Will be thinking of you as we head to California for a 50th anniversary trip.
Love the pieces. I would have to modify at 5’2″ but gives me great ideas
love to hear you found some great outfit ideas. it’s so easy to tweak the outfits to suit your budget and stature.
