Happy Friday, ladies! And it’s Friday the 13th, to boot! If you’re superstitious, this is a day wrought with bad luck. But if you’re a football fan, then you’re gonna love our Fridays with Oscar post ‘cuz it’s Time to Tailgate!
Football season is in full swing, so whether you love to follow the NFL (I’m rooting for the 49ers this year!) or your favorite college football team, GO, DAWGS! You are in for a treat today. Even if you’re not a football fan, we can all agree that tailgate food is the best! And Kelly has outdone herself with a delicious version of a BLT that is perfect to feed a crowd!

Slouchy Jeans
The weather is definitely cooling down this week and fall is in the air. I slipped into a comfy outfit perfect for Friday and/or a tailgate. Who doesn’t love a slouchy pair of jeans?! Not I, said the little red hen, and that goes for yours truly. This sporty striped cardigan from Lands’ End has been on style repeat since it arrived (it came with me to NYC last week). Today, it’s paired with a sleeveless turtleneck and suede slingbacks for that weekend vibe we’re all fond of!

Black Denim
Fortunately for us, the Georgia Bulldogs’ colors are black, red, and white! So it’s easy to dress in a festive outfit to tailgate. I am wearing my favorite black denim, the AG Mari High-Rise Slim Straight Jeans. These jeans are a rich black wash that goes perfectly with a faded denim short-sleeve button-up that I am wearing as a light layer.
The Greta Ballet Flat in red is the perfect shoe for a Dawgs’ gameday tailgate party!

Bloody Maria with Carrot and Pear Sangrita – Tailgate Batch Cocktail
This is a batch cocktail recipe that works perfectly for a group but is also easy to make for only a few. A sangrita is a traditional Mexican drink that is a combination of fruit juices, usually served as a chaser to tequila shots. In this batch Bloody Maria, we are mixing the sangrita with the tequila for a delicious and fruit-forward take on the traditional tomato-based Bloody Maria.

BLTs For a Crowd
Sandwiches are a great tailgate food. They’re easy to prepare and you can make them ahead of time. For these Tailgate BLTs, we are using a baguette (like a sub sandwich), which simplifies the preparation even more!
Georgia Bulldog Party Supply Pack
Big Batch BLTs
Ingredients:
- 12 Thick-Cut Bacon Slices
- ½ cup Mayonnaise
- 1 tsp. Grated Lemon Zest
- 1 Garlic Clove grated
- 1 tsp. Black Pepper divided
- 2 Medium Ripe Tomatoes
- ¼ tsp. Kosher Salt
- 2 12- oz. Baguettes sliced in half horizontally
- 8 Butter Lettuce Leaves
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400º F. Arrange bacon slices on a foil-lined sheet pan. Bake until crisp, 14-18 minutes. Transfer slices to a paper towel-lined plate and set aside.
- Stir together mayo, lemon zest, grated garlic, and ¼ teaspoon of the black pepper in a small bowl. Set aside.
- Cut tomatoes into ¼ inch half moons and season with kosher salt and remaining black pepper.
- Roughly chop the cooked bacon.
- Spread about 2 tablespoons of the mayo mixture over each of the cut sides of the baguettes. Place lettuce leaves on the bottom halves. Top with sliced tomatoes and bacon (about ¾ cup of bacon per baguette). Slice BLTs crosswise into 4-inch portions just before serving.
