It’s a brand new year my friends - Welcome to 2023!!! I am thrilled to be sharing a new year with you all here on Beth’s blog. One of my goals heading into this year is to make the space within my home feel special and unique to my style, as well as functional and organized! That's why today I'm showing you how to upgrade your bathroom & vanity in a few easy steps.
And goodness knows, once the Christmas decor comes down, I am always in need of some major pick-me-up decor ideas to make my home feel fresh again!
This leads me into focusing on one of the most used rooms in my home - the master bath! Since I spend a lot of time applying my makeup (every single day!) I like for this space where I spend so much time, to be extremely functional and stylish.
Today I’m going to share with you just a few of the smart tools and handy organizers that are must haves in my own bathroom that help me achieve my makeup looks every day.
Hopefully hearing about some of these tools will help to motivate you to think about your own vanity spot and inspire ways for you to finally get your clutter in order!

Take an hour to go through your makeup drawers and shelves and toss old beauty products…
Now that the clutter is gone and you can see exactly what products make you happy, let’s get to organizing…
Products that help me to easily ORGANIZE my MAKEUP and SKINCARE on the countertop is a must. I don’t have much storage space or cabinetry in my bathroom, so being able to access and see my most used products on top of the countertop so helpful. And of course, it needs to be pleasant to the eye as well!
I have this Amazon rotating makeup organizer, $25, that has been a game changer for me! I can easily switch up the shelves on it for shorter and taller products. And so as I’m applying my makeup, I can just give it a small push to rotate it around to pull what product I want to use next! You won’t believe how much you can store on just one of these organizers, it’s truly an organizational delight.
The one spinning bowl I listed in the collage is also great for smaller items like perfumes and nail polishes. Or, if you have a blank wall to fill up, you could do a polish bar like I did!
This was one of my favorite inexpensive organization ideas I did during Covid a couple of years ago. I installed a couple of ACRYLIC SHELVES I found on Wayfair, onto a bare wall in my bathroom to store my rather large collection of nail polishes on. I like to arrange them in the rainbow pattern of ROY G BIV so I can see exactly what I’ve got to choose from.
It almost looks like artwork with all of the joyful colors that you can see and makes them easier to access than just throwing them in a drawer or bag. Check out my quick tutorial on how I did this on my Instagram reel here.
Every woman must own a great MAKEUP MIRROR. Using the flat mirror that comes standard on the bathroom wall is usually too far away to see exactly what you’re doing close up on your face! There’s no way I can get my makeup to look just right if I didn’t have a stand alone mirror that I could bring right up close to my face when creating my makeup looks.
Do yourself a favor if you don’t own one of these, and treat yourself. All three of the above in the collage look very chic on your countertop!
Simple Human Sensor Mirror | 9 Lights Vanity Mirror | Vanity Table Top Mirror by Fenchilin
I have owned the Simple Human one for years now, which lights up as soon as your face gets close enough to it and is easily portable around the house. I also own the large Fenchilin mirror that has Bluetooth capabilities so that I can play my favorite music while I’m getting ready! Truly I wouldn’t want to get ready without it.
Now that we have our useful makeup mirror and main beauty organizers, you’ll need a few BATHROOM ACCESSORIES as well. I like to add a touch of glam flair with these items!
You need to be able to have tissue at your fingertips and I love adding a chic tissue cover to the generic boxes that they come in. Really elevates a space in an expensive way. I also like to have cute places to store my Qtips and cotton rounds, so having vessels to place them in is key for an uncluttered look.
Marble Tissue Holder | Eyeshadow Palette Organizer | 9 Piece Mirrored Accessory Set | Satin Gold Makeup Brush Holder
And if you own a ton of shadow palettes like I do, owning at least one or two of these easy-to-clean acrylic shadow organizers is a game changer. You can flip right to the one that you want to use for the day and it keeps them safe and upright so you can see exactly what your options are.

Happy New Year, Jennifer. Wonderful post. I’ve loved cosmetics all my long life. Though there are less in my life now, today’s tips will help organize what I own. Want to say you are GORGEOUS in the chartreuse top, along with your hair style of the day! Appreciate your hard work. Look forward to all your 2023 posts! 🥰
I do appreciate your kind words Sylvia! Glad you are following along with my beauty posts. Happy New Year to you!
Jennifer, thanks for this organizing post! I’m forever trying to get myself organized. I wasn’t aware of the acrylic shelves from Wayfair, might just have to buy one or two of them. I love using small decorative vases on my bureau to hold makeup brushes and eye pencils. It gives a personal and unique touch.
You’re so welcome Nancy! Glad you enjoyed this post. I highly recommend the acrylic shelf idea – you could store really anything on them that you have a lot of options of – from serums, to lotions, to perfumes. It makes the perfect way to easily see what you have but also a fun way to decorate a wall with! A small succulent plant to add flair would be cute too.
