for those of you following me on Instagram or Facebook Stories, you know that i am spending the week on Tybee Island off the coast of Georgia. and let me tell you, there is something magical about the beach. the moment my toes hit the sand, all the cares of the world simply disappear. there are only blue skies, sunshine, and the sound of the waves gently rolling onto the shore. is there anything more peaceful? years and years ago, my family lived on an island for close to five years. and two of my favorite things will always be watching the sun dip into the ocean at sunset and walking along the shore with miles and miles of sand stretching out before me. so this week, we’re talking what to wear on a beach vacation with an excursion or two to Savannah thrown in for good measure. yep, i’m vacay, and i’m feeling good.
first up is an ootd (outfit of the day) that’s as comfy as it is chic. and what’s better than a drawstring waist? especially when you’re on vacation. and y’all know i love a bold patterned pant. this pair is from J.Crew who always delivers one or two silk pants each season. since this pant has a multitude of colors splashed across it pick a color any color to add to the mix. but if you want to play it safe a white tee is the way to go.

of course, i love a vacation in Paris walking the streets of St. Germaine and sipping wine at local cafe’s (not sure when that’s happening again), or visiting the ruins of Angor Wat, but when it’s time to unwind and chill i head to the beach. it’s a place where i can catch my breath, regroup, and charge my battery. and i don’t know about you, but i desperately needed to slow my pace and unhook from the world. if only for a week… 2020 has certainly dished out its fair share of stress.
a beach vacay is one vacation where you are allowed to be lazy. there are no wake-up calls, no tours to catch, and make-up is not required. you can pack a big suitcase or throw everything into an overnight bag. just don’t forget your sunglasses and sunscreen. swimsuits and flip-flops are the name of the game, and cut-off shorts and tees are not frowned upon. and you only have to brush your teeth and wash your face before you head out the door in the morning. did i mention i love beach vacations?!

I knew it was you! I live in Savannah (my hometown!) and was spending some time at Tybee yesterday with my sister-in-law. I’m sure I saw you walk by – actually recognized your swimsuit from an earlier post! Hope you enjoy your Tybee Time!!
awww, you should have waved me down. i always love to meet my readers! you’re so lucky to have Tybee in your back yard.
Hope you have a great time Beth!! Enjoy it dear lady! Pictures of Tybee please?!
you got it, Chris! it’s such a cute little beach town.
Good Morning Beth, As I read your post, a flood of memories came to mind. Tybee Island is where I saw the ocean for the first time as a young child. I’ll never forget riding the waves on my yellow intertube with my cousin! Hope you have pleasant week making good memories.
Love your ootd! Fun!
Blessings my friend,
Susan
thanks so much, susan! isn’t it wonderful to travel down memory lane? so happy to hear you have fond memories of Tybee Island.
Enjoy your vacation, we had been due to vacation on St Pete beach Florida our annual trip from Ireland every year but no travel allowed.

hopefully, you will be able to resume your annual trip in 2021! take care.
Hi Beth
Love the beach pants with Safari print from J Crew , just wondering what size u got?
i purchased my usual size 8. and if fits tts. hope this helps!
Those silk pants look sooo comfortable! I, too, love a beach vacation. It is the most relaxing getaway ever. You are looking sun kissed, Beth. Thanks for your daily posts. They keep me going. I look forward to your upcoming packing for the beach post.
great minds think alike, joanie! i’m loving these pants almost as much as my beach vacation.
Enjoy your beach vacation, Beth. I agree totally about the instant relaxation while our toes nestle in the soft sand.
thanks, paulette! my toes were in the sand all afternoon and i’m one happy camper.
I hope you are having a great time at Tybee. It looks like you forgot to put sunscreen on the tops of your feet. Ouch! Been there!
Don’t forget to eat at the Sundae Cafe and AJ’s. The locals eat there. Grab a pizza at Hucapoos and explore the little shops in the neighborhood.
Enjoy my favorite stomping ground!
can you believe i pulled that rookie move?! thanks for the suggestions. they’re on the list.
Gosh, it’s hard to see the pics of you for all the advertisements popping up! Super distracting!!
there’s been lots of discussion of moving the blog to a subscription model. but most of my readers prefer free content with ads. what say you?
Beth, I am so glad to see you in a short hair style again. You are fortunate that it looks so lovely on you, almost like the cut was “made for Beth”. AND it makes you look 10 years younger. (Not that you were not already young-looking.) I will be 79 this coming week and love seeing what you will wear each day! So glad to see you on a vacay. I know it’s hard without Mr. Style. You are a Graceful and Courageous Women, and a wonderful example for all of us.
what a thoughtful and lovely comment, donna. thanks so much! wishing you a very happy birthday.

I love those pants. I think black or pink would look great too. Although I probably wouldn’t wear black on the actual beach but it would work for the local restaurants that can be chilly. I live three miles from the beach and ashamed to say I haven’t been this year. Love the shoes.
love the fact these pants go with so many colors and can be dressed up or down. go to the beach. nuff said.
Enjoy your much needed time off!
I love the pants! I bought a similar but floral pattern pair this summer! So fun! Enjoy your vacation!
Was just looking at Tybee Island today. Now I’m wondering if you stayed in a Jane Coslick house? Love the pants!
I LOVE ❤️ those pants. So cute.
