it’s always a good day when i partner with Ann Taylor. love, love, love all the basics with a twist this brand carries. and come January winter white is a must-have wardrobe staple. there’s lots to love about this classic color. it’s soft, it’s flattering, and it goes with everything. and i do mean every. single. color.
but winter white looks tres chic when it’s turned into a monochromatic outfit. start with an ankle pant with a lean silhouette. add a tipped popover with a hidden-button closure, and for a little extra something, why not choose a coatigan in a smart houndstooth pattern?
today’s outfit would look terrific with a simple pair of nude heels. but why not amp up the volume with leopard accessories? leopard pumps are a wardrobe staple and act as a neutral. if three-inch heels aren’t your thing, Ann Taylor carries several heel heights and styles. that’s what i love about this brand. they offer a little something for everyone.
but wait! “in for a penny in for a pound,” my mother always said. so let’s add a faux fur snood into the mix. it’s stylish, soft, and will chase those winter blues (and wind) away in no time flat. it’s a chic addition to your winter wardrobe. and it’s on sale!
contrast tipping gives this popover a modern edge. but the split cuff adds a feminine twist. and this tunic can be tucked in as in today’s ootd or left untucked. stay tuned to a future outfit as there are lots of different ways to style this blouse.

Hi Beth,
Can you tell me where your necklace is from?
You look lovely
Thanks,
Susan
i believe the necklace is either Oscar de la Renta or Kenneth Jay Lane. both are favorite designers of mine.
Beautiful look, Beth!
I saw a gorgeous white sweater and white jeans outfit on Ann Taylor’s Instagram site the other day that I am drooling over. Love their clothes!
i can always count on Ann Taylor for chic up-to-date outfits. happy to hear you love them too!
Fabulous and sophisticated on you!! Love the winter white with your gorgeous hair!
And just a little tidbit–those black lace pants you featured a while back, and I commented and said I might have to get them? Well, I found a pair in my closet. Had no idea…. 😐
now that’s a happy day when you discover something “new” in your closet. i know you’ll love wearing them.
That outfit could not be more gorgeous on you!
Ann Taylor knows how to keep our style game strong all winter.
This outfit looks gorgeous on you!
I love everything about it, can’t wait to see the blouse styled also.
the blouse has endless styling opportunities!
Very pretty outfit! I love the leopard snood. I have a few fake fur snoods I’ve enjoyed, but it’s been so warm this winter I haven’t broken them out yet. I hope we do get some opportunities for them. Winter white really does just go with anything–neutrals, pops of color, stripes, etc. The blouse is lovely, too. I love the tipped edges. Ann Taylor never disappoints, and they have good prices too. Happy Monday!
happy monday, sue! you are so right about Ann Taylor never disappointing. hopefully, the weather will cool down a bit. all i know is i am tired of rain.
Loved it. Extremely becoming on you.
thanks so much for stopping by, nancy!
Gorgeous outfit that looks fabulous on you. But, who can afford to pay in excess of $500 plus bag and jewelry for that look?
i don’t know about you, but i tend to shop one item at a time. if i see a terrific handbag, i love, then i’ll splurge. but with the knowledge, i’ll have it on hand for years. the same with jewelry that i know i can hand down to the next generation. but we each have a budget that we’re comfortable with. so shop your closet with the blog post as inspiration. or find items that similar that fit into your budget. because there are so many price points available these days when it comes to style.
You look fabulous in that outfit, both ways. Adding the leopard accessories was inspired!
just couldn’t resist adding leopard accessories to this outfit.
Simply beautiful ! I love every gorgeous detail . You have such expertise in style and classic fashion . I have to ask you …
do you create these fashion combinations on your own ?
You’ve taught me so much . I save your posts and try my best to “mimic” your outfits with what I already have in my closet . Accessorizing is key ! You do that effortlessly !
Thank you for continuing your blog . I thoroughly enjoy each and every post from you .
i do create the outfits on my own. i’m so happy that brands like Ann Taylor trust me to pull together outfits that i can share with my readers. thanks so much for your sweet words!
Would love to see the cardigan coat paired with a soft black silk or cashmere scarf or a gray scarf with silver cords in it. Quiet elegance so the coat design reigns.
Don’t think Ann Taylor carries plus petite
Wish they did. I love the cardigan coat.
there are so many ways to style this coatigan. today’s post is but one.
Lovely, classy chic!! As much as I appreciate monochromatic, the fun pop of color or unexpected accessory, be it snood, necklace, handbag, shoe, etc, is what truly draws me to your blog. As another reader stated, I too save your posts and glean from your insights. Thank you bunches!!
Gentile Signora mi piace moltissimo con questa pettinatura cioè più lunghi. Buona giornata. Qui in Italia é mattino!!!!!
Would you please do a capsule wardrobe for Spring 2020? I rely on your good taste, and appreciate your blog so much.
These looks so lovely and stylish on you – I just wish we had Ann Taylor stores in the UK
