if you’re working for the weekend there’s nothing like trading in your nine-to-five duds for a more laidback look. isn’t it nice to switch gears and relax come friday afternoon? believe it or not what we choose to wear help ease us into the mood. there’s nothing like the weekend when the living is easy and our pace slows down even if just a tad. so i’ve pulled together several of my favorite saturday/sunday looks in case you were wondering what to wear? at least, this is what i wear when the weekend rolls into town come summer.
love a simple tee and skirt to bum around town in. add a cute cardigan for extra pizazz.
labels: skirt J.Crew (similar here and here); tee J.Crew; cardigan J.Crew
graphic tees have made a comeback this season. while they look fabulous all by themselves pop a jean jacket over the top for a cool vibe. add a pair of pants with a fun pattern and you know summer has arrived.
labels: pants Talbots (old, similar here and here); tee J.Crew (similar here and here); jean jacket Old Navy
nothing beats the heat better than a simple dress. wedge espadrilles are cute, comfy and adds that casual chic factor. and we all know gingham and summer go together like peanut butter and jelly.
dress J.Crew (old, similar here); shoes J.Crew (old, similar here and here); handbag Miu Miu (old, similar here and here)
when the temps heat up it’s time to cool down in a simple tunic. pair it with a pair of khaki jeans for a simple but classic look. but don’t forget to add a striped tote to jazz things up a bit.
labels: pants Chico’s; tunic Chico’s (similar here and here); shoes Zara (old, similar here and here)
during the summer months, i typically exchange my beloved blue jeans for a jean skirt for a relaxed but chic ootd.
labels: skirt Gap (similar here and here); tee Banana Republic (similar here and here); tote (similar here and here)
but i have several denim dresses on hand too. this shirtdress is one of my all-time favorites. its seen at least three appearances on the blog.
labels: dress INC; shoes Dansko
but let’s not forget that linen will keep us exceptionally cool and fresh all summer long. and the wrinkles? it does become rumpled due to poor elasticity but i think it just adds to its charm.
labels: pants J.Jill; blouse J.Jill; sandals Nine West (similar here and here); tote Banana Republic (similar here and here)
and shorts? i love them and wear them all summer long. i live in georgia y’ll where the temps are hot and hotter. look for a pair that has a pattern or embroidery that gives a preppy vibe.
labels: shorts (similar here and here); blouse Banana Republic (similar here and here)

Lots of nice looks to get ideas from. I also have some of these same items you show here–summer is so hot here in NC that it is always great to find light, airy pieces. Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!
Had a great time in Savannah, St. Augustine and with family in Florida. I managed to get in some shopping at the outlets and Talbots at Wire Grass mall is less than a mile from my son’s home so I shopped the sale there already. Love all the outfits you posted. Now that I am home and have my whole closet to work with, I am thinking about what to wear for the holiday. We have warm (not hot) weather so I can enjoy wearing summery clothes here now. Let’s all be grateful for those who have sacrificed for the freedom we enjoy.
Lots of sharp outfits, lots of good ideas… xoxo
