Every woman’s wardrobe needs key pieces for a truly hard-working closet. The perfect striped tee, a great pair of boots, flattering dark rinse denim, a comfortable pair of loafers, and even a white button-up make my top ten. But the one item that’s absolutely essential is a stylish blazer to wear to work pair with dresses, and as a third layer when it’s too cold to go bare-armed and too warm to wear a coat. This week is about blazers, so I have a Fall Fashion Essential – The Blazer today.

Once considered a menswear staple, women decided to borrow from the boys, and blazers are now an integral wardrobe staple for men and women as they instantly add polish to any outfit. Just like a button-up shirt, I think you can never have too many blazers hanging in your closet. But your budget might not agree. So, I’ve rounded up a few of my favorites to round out Blazer Week.
Once your closet has a tailored blazer in black or navy, the sky is the limit when it comes to blazers. I love a plaid blazer all fall and winter, and this classic plaid Shetland blazer from Talbots doesn’t disappoint! I love the bold and bright hues that will brighten any gloomy day November has to offer. Today, I played it safe and paired the blazer with dark rinse denim. But I added a pop of color with a purple cable knit sweater with silver buttons that come in seven colors.
Yep, these suede loafers are back in action, as well as a tried and true leather handbag from Coach. This style uniform (blazer, jeans, sweater, and loafers) is an outfit I can count on day in and day out and pull together in minutes.

Your outfit is fabulous! Those colors on you and together are so beautiful! I love that you paired purple with that jacket. I wouldn’t have gone that way, but I love it!
My only issue is I don’t wear wool! The blazer is 48% wool. I’m wondering if the neck/collar area would be bothersome? I may try it!
Give it a try! You can always send it back. But I just loved this cheerful color combo!
Such a fresh color combo! Looks comfy and great on you…thinking about it! Also love Talbots’ velvet blazer in Indigo.
Stay tuned as I just received that velvet blazer! It’s a beautiful fit!
