happy thursday, gang! well, i know you know that i know august (and summer) is coming to an end. because if there are two things i love to talk about it’s the weather and how fast time zips by – i just turned 60 y’all, and i swear my 35th birthday was yesterday. if you missed my birthday post, you can read it here. even though time marches on we can take a moment and look back at the content, i created for august, and take note of the posts that resonated with you. in case you were on vacay or taking a hiatus from the internet here’s a peek at what you might have missed.
pattern mixing is alive and well! there were lots of comments on Facebook discussing the pros and cons of this ootd, but the verdict is in you loved this outfit. especially the striped tee. who am i to argue?
since i love to mix and match items in my closet here’s summer style on repeat. mr. style and i were scouting new photo locations for an exciting project i will reveal in a few days when this photo was snapped wearing this adorable botanical skirt and chambray shirt.
by far everyone’s favorite post (and mine too) was what i learned after thirty-five years of marriage. this ted baker dress is scrump-dilly-icious to wear. it’s those satin pleats. many of you loved the metal dome bangle. and, yes, mr. style finally made an appearance on the blog.
another style repeat offender is this striped tee. this time i dressed it up for date night with a striped blazer and girlfriend chinos. the perfect ootd as i sailed away on date night with mr. style.
recipes and cocktails are a hit with y’all. and you’re always guaranteed a glimpse of oscar and ollie once friday rolls around. this post was titled buddha bowls and grog. my pink ruffled pants are back in action.
next up is how to go gray which is self-explanatory. even if you don’t have gray hair or plan on going gray anytime soon, you might be interested in my favorite hair products. there’s also a video where i style my pixie cut two ways.
this side-stripe jumpsuit is so darn fun to wear! it was a big hit on Instagram as well as on the blog. Banana Republic liked the photo too and kindly featured me on their Instagram feed. thanks, Banana! this outfit is perfect for date night btw.
who doesn’t love leopard? especially leopard shoes?! these tasseled loafers are my new favorites, and from the looks of it, they’re yours too. but this blazer comes in a close second. both items will transition into fall without skipping a beat.
summer neutrals were going strong at the beginning of the month. i’m wearing studded tory burch sandals that i discovered at the end of the season yet wear every chance i get. they are so dang cute!
last but not least is a casual and comfy outfit T by Talbots. many of you commented you had forgotten all about tretorn sneakers. i’m happy to be the one who reminded you. they look adorable with dresses too!
now that we covered the top ten posts it’s onto the top ten items you shopped in august.

I can see why you have been ‘hiding’ Mr Style! 🙂
he’s a keeper! xo
What a difference since you have been working out! Is that your husband?
yes, this is my husband a.k.a. mr. style. xo
Wow – he is so handsome – you make a beautiful couple!
I do love that you featured Mr Style–he certainly deserves to be center stage here and there! He’s done a great job with photos and locations for photo shoots–nice round up here.
he certainly has, sue! and we have great fun working together. xo
