This week, What to…Wednesday takes us on a Caribbean cruise. It can be tough to switch gears and think of summery, tropical outfits when the leaves are falling and temperatures are dropping at home. It can also be tough to find out-of-season summer clothes if you want to update your tropical vacation wardrobe. Resort-wear is an option, but can be an expensive one.
So, keep it simple and choose a color palette in hues that are neutral and classic. It will be easiest to find out-of-season clothing in staple colors like navy and white. Build a capsule wardrobe based on items you already have in your summer closet. Buy a few new items that are rooted in your selected color palette to round out your tropical vacation wardrobe. Keep your footwear neutral with metallics; this way you can mix and match your shoes to different outfits for variety. Plus, metallics will add just enough polish to be mood-lifting and will feel like vacation. Bon Voyage!
