Happy Sunday, Ladies! Fall is right around the corner and that gets my mind back to one of my favorite wardrobe basics: denim. Over the years, I’ve showcased almost every cut of jeans imaginable, paired with a variety of different tops, shoes, and bags. Today’s post features the basic cuts and styles that are trending for fall – and available now. Like all wardrobe basics, jeans are wardrobe workhorses. These days there are but a few occasions when jeans don’t work, but for most of us, they are an easy go-to for day-to-day, for the office, and even a night out. So let’s explore Wardrobe Basics: Denim Essentials.

Probably the most essential pair of jeans you can own, straight-leg jeans are a true classic. Timeless and not subject to trends, it’s the backbone of every woman’s denim collection.

Also in the straight-leg denim category are slim straight-leg jeans. Straight-leg jeans have come back in a big way over the last couple of years, so it makes sense that we are now seeing a variety of fits in the style.
Though skinny jeans have become a little less prevalent this year, they’re still with us…and they’re great for fall and winter when you want to show off knee-high boots! Styles that offer a good amount of stretch are the most comfortable in a skinny style.

Much like skinny jeans, there are very few harder-working pieces of denim than a good pair of bootcut jeans. They go with just about anything and everything. But it’s worth pointing out that not all bootcut jeans are cut the same. Flares vary dramatically in opening width.
Flare-leg jeans are trending big this year. There are so many styles to choose from: cropped or long; with exaggerated flares, like the ones I snapped up a the Nordstrom Sale, or styles with more subtle flares, like the Kick Out Crop Jeans by Madewell. If you’re tentative about wearing this style, but you want to join in on the fun, try styles called Kick Flare, or Kick Out. These have a slight flare that is very wearable and can ease you into wearing more dramatically flared legs.
In my opinion, wide leg jeans have moved beyond trending and have become a perennial favorite for many women. With so many styles, washes, and lengths, there’s a wide-leg jean for everyone.

Boyfriend/girlfriend jeans have made a real surge in popularity over the past 4-5 years. That’s because they’re just so darn comfortable and versatile. Wear them when you’re lounging around at home over a lazy weekend. Or roll them up and pair them with heels. No matter how you wear them, you won’t regret adding a pair or two to your closet.

I liked this post because you showed many different styles, and ways to wear them. I am not a fan of showing the same outfit over, and over.
You’re in luck as we post many, MANY posts with different styles as well as one outfit. Perhaps you missed a post or two?
