10 self care habits for autumn

10 self-care habits for autumn. why self-care? why is it important to make room and take time to care for ourselves? the past eighteen months were stress-filled days when far too many of us were isolated and/or binge-watching the news. itโ€™s easy to stop caring about yourself when the news is negative. what’s the point? when that happens it’s all too easy to become critical which is linked to depression, anxiety, and body dissatisfaction. listen to your next conversation with your girlfriends. are there any statements about weight? or guilt about food choices? anyone has to get back on the wagon whether it’s exercise or a diet? there is far too much emphasis on how women look and not enough about their mental and physical health. ladies, no outfit will ever look good if we don’t feel good on the inside. maybe that’s why we’re always on the search for posts that tell us how to “hide ten pounds” instead of looking for ways “to create a healthy body.”

health and wellness are key components of a happy life. health looks after our physical self with nutritious food choices, eight hours of sleep, and regular exercise. wellness will focus on the little things in life like a daily walk, afternoon tea, reading a good book, or drawing a hot bath, which all boost our mental health. if we want to age with grace, strength, and beauty, self-care needs to be incorporated into our lives to live our best lives at 50 and beyond. when we focus on health and wellness we create a well-balanced life. when we show ourselves compassion then we’re able to be compassionate with others.

We all need to put ourselves on our to-do list. My therapist suggested this, and I try to follow this. Walking, yoga, reading, baking, cooking, knitting for my grandsons. And of course snuggles with our dog.

I really enjoy your blog! You are a class act! I admire your commitment to exercise and fitness. You are a beautiful lady! I so need to get motivated. Iโ€™m almost 58. In the caring for aging parents stage. Still heartbroken after losing my father almost 4 years ago. A tough stage in life.
