it’s the first call for fall so what do i wear? white denim. if you hadn’t heard white is right even after labor day. especially white denim since it is a hard working transition piece that straddles the seasons with style. this pair is from ann taylor. a black sleeveless turtleneck from j.crew factory seemed like a perfect choice. because who doesn’t love black and white?!

but for a little twist, a pair of cheetah flats from madewell are thrown into the mix. these loafers are several years old but are hands down one of my favorites. take a look at madewell’s new collection. there’s already a pair of loafers that are singing that siren song. will i listen?
denim | sweater | jacket | shoes | handbag |lipstick lana
the cheetah loafers beautifully mix camel and black together. so why not take a cue from my shoes and pop on a lightweight camel jacket? a leopard belt ties this ootd into a tidy little package. but let’s not forget that handbags are the icing on the cake. this casual hobo bag in black polishes off this casual chic look.
it’s hump day ladies! even though i still think it’s tuesday. or maybe even monday. these long weekends always throw omy clock off. whatever day it is let’s make it a good one.

Looks fabulous, Beth! I don’t know what it is…I LOVE Ann Taylor, but I can’t for the life of me, find the right fit in her jeans! I LOVE everything else they do, tho!
awww, that’s too bad! usually ann know just how to fit a woman’s body. especially with pants. but jeans are a bit trickier and i have noticed a difference between the modern skinnies from several years ago to today. but take heart, there is a jean with your name on it. the hard part is trying on a gazillion pairs until you find the one. kind of like dating!

Matching shoes and sunglasses… total genius !
sometimes all the pieces fall into place and i catch a break! glad you liked it.

Hi Beth! I’ve been following you for quite a while and I love most of your looks. I was also glad when you posted ideas for budget-friendly pieces from Target. However, when I tried a few of them on, they didn’t work for me. I wish you could drum up some PETITE volunteers to model clothes that would work for we short gals over 60. Since I am retired I don’t have big bucks to spend on clothes and everywhere I look it seems the fashions are always for younger, slimmer gals. Please consider doing a segment for petites. Thanks!
that’s a great idea paula! just keep in mind that so many brands carry petites like Talbots or Banana Republic. and i do like to shop at both stores especially since they regularly offer terrific sales.

Looking cool in your sunnies and cheetah flats.
there’s nothing better than a sunny day and sunnies! as i write i’m looking out on gloomy skies, rain, and wind. my oh my how things change and quickly!
so here’s to sunnies and cheetah flats.

I love this jacket but the company doesn’t appear to produce petite sizes — which means the sleeves would be much too long. Do you know of any similar style jackets that would be available in a petite??
hi kay, no, unfortunately madewell does not cater to petites. ralph lauren does offer a great selection in petite sizes and he is one of my favorite designers. and he always has a nice assortment of jackets and blazers.

I love these neutrals. I got out my leopard shoes yesterday and they were perfect–the cooler temps just sang to me, I guess. I am totally comfortable with white after Labor Day–it helps lighten things up come cooler weather, and looks great with so many colors and neutrals as well.
Did you take off the “playful patches?” I could probably do without those, and didn’t see them in your photos.
the playful patches? was there another madewell jacket with patches? or did i link the wrong coat… what? i never make mistakes. hope you’re staying dry up there. we have rain for the next few days but the wind gusts won’t be as strong as initially predicted.

I enjoy your blog and read it often so please know that it is with all the benefit of the doubt and as a kindness that I am pointing out that the title of this blog post is a white supremacist slogan. I was shocked to see these words on my screen and I assume you did not realize this but I can’t imagine what I would feel like as a person of color coming across this post. I do hope you are able to change it.
well, i am very sorry to hear that this is a slogan with negative connotations. thank you for pointing this out.
