The Desert Bird

The Desert Bird is a tequila-based drink with pineapple juice for a tropical sweetness, while Campari gives it a bitter edge.
Makes: 2 Cocktails

Ingredients:  

  • 3 ounces bacanora mezcal, or tequila
  • 1 ½ ounces pineapple gum or simple syrup mixed with equal parts pineapple juice
  • 1 ounce Campari
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 sprigs of mint for garnish

Instructions: 

  • Shake all the ingredients together in a cocktail shaker; strain over ice. Serve with a mint sprig.
